碳化物
一类极硬而脆的材料。碳化物由碳、金属或氧化物粉末以及粘结剂混合制成，随后将该混合物在高温高压下处理，得到最终产品。
碳化物用于需要良好耐磨性的场合。碳化物通常通过钎焊（见碳化钛）或喷涂（见 D-gun）固定在变幅杆端面上。
Carbide
A class of extremely hard, brittle materials. Carbides are made by mixing carbon, a powdered metal or oxide, and binder. This mixture is then treated at high temperature and pressure to give the final product.
Carbides are used where good wear resistance is needed. Carbides are often attached to the horn face by brazing (see titanium carbide) or spraying (see D-gun).
