Metal welding (ultrasonic)
A process of joining two metal parts by applying ultrasonic vibration in a shear (scrubbing) mode (figure 1 from Al‑Sarraf[1]). The ultrasonic vibration displaces the surface oxides and contaminates at the interfaces of the two parts, thereby allowing intimate metal-to-metal contact from which the weld occurs.
